Insulated not Isolated 

Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord." 2Corinthians 6:17
 
How many times did I hear this quoted in my youth as an instruction to have nothing to do with the society in which I grew up. 
 
This understanding clearly cuts across the true accusation put against Jesus …  "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?".
God calls us

• to be different not distant,

• to be holy without being holier than thou,

• to be in the world yet not of the world,

• insulated not isolated.  

Salt on the side never flavoured anyone’s chips!
