Time to Move On
'Fill your horn with oil and be on your way’ 1 Samuel 16:1
Israel’s first king had been such a disappointment to Samuel.
It was Samuel who had anointed Saul and placed him before the people.
There were such high hopes that the new king would reverse Israel’s fortunes and usher in a sustained period of peace and prosperity.
It had all gone wrong and now Samuel was in danger of going into depression, or worse still, indulging in a ‘pity party’.
