Just Lucky I Guess!

As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelek. Ruth 2:3

The story of Ruth is one of God’s grace to the outsider, the foreigner, the vulnerable.

Ruth’s fortunes turn on this one phrase … ‘As it turned out.’
Literally ‘as hap happened’, she finds herself gleaning in the field of Boaz and everything changes forever!

  • This is not luck … luck doesn’t exist for the believer.
  • This is not ‘Coincidence’ … this is a ‘God’incidence.
  • This is ‘God causing all things to work together for the good of those who love Him’. [Romans 8:28]

As we walk by faith and not sight, ‘haps will happen’ on a regular basis.

We won’t always recognise them at the time, but we will look back and trace the finger of God at work, in our history, for our blessing.
